Status report 2026-08-12: hired wrenches & standing orders
The repair labour market is open.
The registry has been asked to summarise the machine. Filed as follows.
Headline
The repair labour market is open. Other players’ damaged mechs are now your payday: take a job off the REPAIR JOBS board, work the hull with the repair drone, and get paid per point of health you put back. Owners set a standing repair budget on the REPAIR ORDERS screen, opt mechs out, or post a bounty when they want the queue jumped. The house takes its cut; the wrench takes the rest.
RAW ALPHA. The repair floor is a proof of concept and looks like one. The mech is untextured, the hangar is a void, and the drone is an orbiting camera that sometimes sticks; the free-flight rig comes later. The screen does not yet show the health you restored, the NXR you earned, your remaining budget, or that your patient just got called into battle mid-weld. The money and the repairs are real; the polish is on the bench. Earn ugly now, brag later.
Your mechs take standing orders. Every mech now carries nine behaviour dials on its command screen: who it shoots, how far it stands off, when it breaks off, how tight it packs with the roster, and more. Each dial shows what AUTO currently resolves to for that exact loadout, so you can see what you are overriding before you do. Orders apply from the next battle; Alpha Citizens can save a named preset and apply it fleet-wide in one action.
New
- Added firing deadzones and behaviour flags to every weapon card, so a shoulder mount’s blind spot is visible before you buy it.
- Added labels to the repair bay showing which slots run themselves, and what the membership actually sells.
Changes
- Changed newly built mechs to ship with unbranded Stock plating and drives. Faction house gear no longer drops from crates.
- Changed the desks to quote real numbers when asked about damage, shields and variants, and to stop denying gear they just recommended.
- Removed the previous owner’s name from desk gift descriptions.
Fixes
- Fixed shield regeneration never showing on the bar until the mech was next hit.
- Fixed the Tug of War bar staying empty on phones after a bid landed.
- Fixed retrying a failed ability tap charging you twice.
- Fixed settled battles keeping stakes for abilities that never fired. Those stakes now refund automatically at battle end.
- Fixed an ability that failed to fire still paying out its trigger bonus.
- Fixed a finished battle’s leftover ability trigger firing a free strike into the next battle.
- Fixed rapid ability taps queueing behind each other instead of landing instantly.
- Fixed dying twice skipping the repair bill.
- Fixed a failed squad launch locking all three mechs out of the queue forever.
- Fixed squad rosters being readable by players outside your clan.
- Fixed the gantry turntable showing a different skin than the one your mech is wearing.
- Fixed legendary skins displaying as RARE with three stars outside the auction house.
- Plus 14 smaller fixes across the hangar, fleet screen, squads, repair and the market.
